Export Your Gantt Chart

A great project plan is only useful if you can share it. LoopGantt supports six export formats — from a quick visual snapshot to a full data export for other tools.

PNG — Visual snapshot

The simplest format. Exports a high-resolution image of the Gantt chart exactly as it appears on screen. Use it for:

  • Slack or email updates to stakeholders
  • Embedding in presentations
  • Quick status screenshots

Options: orientation (portrait / landscape), zoom level, and theme (light / dark / Nature). Available on all plans.

PDF — Shareable document

A paginated, print-ready PDF with your project title, date, and Gantt chart. Options include cover page style (Standard or Executive), orientation, and paper size. Available on the Pro plan.

The Pro plan generates a full-resolution PDF. Free users receive a watermarked preview to see what the export looks like.

Word — Editable document

Exports a .docx file with a cover page and Gantt chart image. Use this when you need stakeholders to add comments or annotations to the document, or when your organization requires Word format for deliverables. Pro plan only.

Excel (.xlsx) — Spreadsheet export

Exports a .xlsx spreadsheet compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and MS Project. Includes all task fields, dates, and dependencies in a structured format. Pro plan only.

CSV — Spreadsheet data

Available on all plans. Exports all tasks with their fields (name, duration, dates, status, priority, etc.) as a CSV. Use it to:

  • Import into Excel or Google Sheets for custom reporting
  • Feed into another project management tool
  • Create pivot tables or charts from your data

JSON — Full data export

Available on all plans. The most complete export format. Preserves everything: all task fields, dependency types (FS/SS/FF/SF), lag days, checklist items, colors, and project metadata. Use it to:

  • Back up your project
  • Generate a new project using an AI assistant (see Use Your Own LLM)
  • Migrate the project to another instance of LoopGantt

How to export

Export Project modal with format options (PDF, Word, JSON, CSV, Excel, PNG), color themes, and layout choices
Choose a format, color theme, and layout — then click Export
  1. Open your project in Gantt view.
  2. Click the Export button in the toolbar (download icon).
  3. Choose your format and adjust options.
  4. Click Export. The file downloads immediately.
Print tip: For best print quality, use PDF export in landscape orientation on A3 paper for projects with many tasks. This avoids text wrapping on the task name column.
